Our kura programmes support the core subjects with an emphasis on three worlds: Te Kura Āio, Te Kura Waiora and Te Kura Tāiao which are plaited to give the uniqueness of Ngāti Ruanui in these realms. The philosophy of these worlds embraces the surface specifically to South Taranaki Iwi practice of Tīkanga and Kawa. Te Āio encapsulates the spiritual aspects of Atua Māori, Te Kura Waiora epitomizes the well-being, health and safety that enforce the growth through Atua Māori, and Te Kura Tāiao mobilises the care and protection of the environment in the world we live in.

 

Our maratanga is delivered to all tamariki in Te Kura Kaupapa Māori ō Ngāti Ruanui Y0-13.

Core subjects: Pāngarau: Te Tau, Tauanga, Taurangi, Ahuahanga, Te Ine; Te Reo Pānui, Tuhituhi, Kōrero, Whakarongo. These are placed contextually with Te Kura Aio, Te Kura Waiora, and Te Kura Taiao.

 

Te Reo Rotarota Māori (NZSL/Māori Sign-language) is implemented through Karakia and Waiata as a whole Kura practice.
