About Te Ao Marama o Puanga
Te Marau Aho Matua is a program that has been integrated with Te Marau ō Ngāti Ruanui, a framework that provides a 'Korowai' (cloak) content that embeds the core principles of Te Tino Ūaratanga, Te Ira Tangata, Te Reo, Ngā Iwi, Te Ao and Ahuatanga Ako, all of which are complimentary to each other. This program is designed to offer a holistic approach to education that reflects the unique cultural identity and values of Ngāti Ruanui.
The Te Ao Marama ō Puanga program is specifically designed for children from Year 0 to Year 6. It offers contextual learning in three worlds, each offering growth, development, and sustenance in preparation for their career pathways into Te Rau Piata (Y7-13). The program is carefully curated to ensure that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for success both academically and personally.
By embedding the core principles of Te Marau Aho Matua, students are given the opportunity to explore and understand the world around them from a uniquely Māori perspective. This not only enriches their educational experience, but also fosters a strong sense of cultural identity and pride. With Te Marau Aho Matua and Te Ao Marama ō Puanga, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their academic and personal pursuits, while also being empowered to make a positive impact on their communities and the world at large.
